Our research turned up what we were looking for, a high quality safe galvanized electric lift that we could use every day and made winter storage a whole lot safer and easier. The components are heavier than any lift on the market and have over the years been copied by other manufacturers.
The next few years saw us installing lifts for friends while working at our real jobs.
In 1994 we retired from our first lives, Nancy from teaching and Ken from Manufacturing Engineering at General Motors. We immediately started Ace Boat Lifts of Muskoka and within a few years became busier than we ever expected. For the next 10 years Nancy worked on site with installations and today is full time in the office and has the hands on experience to answer your technical questions. Ken continues to be hands on at all installations.
We chose the product we use for its quality and strength and always keep an eye on what is evolving in the industry, particularly in Florida which is the epicenter of the boat lift world. If it survives in salt water it will work in Muskoka freshwater.
The major change since we started was replacing the original open gear which was slow and required periodic grease, although it was bullet proof.Today’s gearbox is a sealed oil bath unit which requires no maintenance and is twice as fast as the original.
One of our major obstacles in the early years was coordinating the operation of electric overhead doors with our boatlifts. This was overcome around the turn of the millennium when our son Jaye started Muskoka Garage Doors. We now can ensure that your door and lift both work as intended.
Every day of our short boating season in Muskoka finds us installing new lifts and meeting the service requirements of our customers.
We do very little advertising as most of our jobs come from recommendations from our satisfied customers. We are very proud of our reputation.

"In the summer of 2010 we worked with Nancy and Ken to install 3 boat lifts at our cottage.
We had a very unique set up for our Sea Doo’s that required special attention before the lift could be installed.
I am very happy to say that everything was installed on time, on budget and ahead of schedule.
It goes without saying I would highly recommend Ken and Nancy to anyone that is installing a boat lift!"
